Weather?
John/Giles asked how cold the winters in Kyrgyzstan are, so I found a lovely statistic that claims the average winter temperature in Kyrgyzstan is -24 degrees celsius. I'm not sure how much I believe the exactness of an average temperature for an entire nation, but I think it's safe to say it's very very very cold. I just heard from my hostess that last week was still pretty cold, but now's the time when things might start warming up. It will probably be fairly cold at night still. You can see approximately how cold I might be at this site, although it doesn't have my exact city, Karakol.
